Join us in Seagrove, pottery capital of the USA, for some outstanding entertainment by winning acts from three local fiddler's conventions. These local musical contests are steeped in decades of history and showcase the many talented bluegrass musicians that pick their instruments for pure enjoyment and craft unique music with their friends and family. Thousands of folks across North Carolina attend these conventions every year but few get a chance like this to focus on some of the best groups and hear them put on an acoustic show that entertains from start to finish.
The 2024 winners selected for this concert are:
Passin' Thru (Star Fiddler's Convention)
The Edenfield Family (High Falls Fiddler's Convention, outstanding youth Cameron Edenfield)
Franklinville Express (Seagrove Fiddler's Convention)
Each winner is selected by highly qualified and acclaimed judges at each event, a tough job since there are more talented contestants than there are potters in Seagrove. The selected winners rise to the occasion resulting in a complimentary mix at this marquee concert hosted by the Town of Seagrove.
Our guest emcee will be Miss Randolph County 2024, Ashley Leonard, who's talent extends beyond her viola (alto cousin of the fiddle) and her platform "Love Doesn't Hurt" for domestic violence education. Leonard is from Southern Pines, North Carolina and is studying Nutrition and Exercise Science at UNC Chapel Hill.
The event will be held outside on the Greene Patio at the Historic Lucks Cannery, with accommodations indoors in case of severe weather. Sound is provided by Scott Auman and Redline Entertainment. Light concessions will be available. Cost is $10 per adult. Any net proceeds will go towards renovation of the Historic Lucks Cannery. Come early and enjoy visiting the Carey and Billie Durham Artwalk and Walker Art Studios.
Sponsors include Elizabeth and Win Dozier, Pottery by Frank Neef, and First Bank.
June 8th, 2024, 7PM - 9PM.
