Volunteer Hosts
Girl Scout Troop 30008 of Seagrove meets Monday nights at the Martha Luck Comer Community Center at Lucks Cannery. Be sure to buy some goodies and drinks from them to support their part of the project which is construction and planting of a pollinator garden here at the Historic Lucks Cannery. They have great ideas to attract butterflies, bees, and bats.
Dance Lessons - Shelly LaCosse
Learn just a few simples steps of swing dancing at 6PM before the concert. Shelly can take you from the basics to more advanced moves. Swing dancing is extremely energetic and loads of fun. There are many different moves you can do, but the underlying theme is a fast pace and quick swinging movement. Once you pick up the iconic triple step, triple step, rock step, then you’ll have no problem swing dancing the night away with your partner! It’s easy to learn how to swing dance Shelly. Dancing is a great way to socialize while getting exercise and upping your mood at the same time. A few of the tunes by the band also could be great for salsa dancing, slow dancing and even line dancing if you like.

About the Venue
Historic Lucks Cannery was donated to the Town of Seagrove in 2018 and named Luck Comer Lail Center. With this gift and a donation from Martha Luck Comer (Daughter of Lucks Inc. founder Ivy Luck) the Lail's agreed to help clean up the facility and renovate it for use by the community. It is a multi-use facility for economic development, job creation, community development and the arts. The center hosts the Town Hall, Police Department, Walker Art Studios, Eastern Steel Works, Sapona Plastics, 705 Trucking, Seagrove/Ulah Water District wastewater treatment, Grace Given and Thompson Arts and Event Hall.
The parking lot is under construction but is useable. There are handicap spaces at the front and paved parking on the West and along Fernandez loop which encircles the building. You can enter from either direction.

Thompson Arts and Event Hall is named after donors Bobby and Ann Thompson. Bobby and Ann's business TRS, LLC is the primary roofing contractor for the 70,000 Sq. Ft. facility. They have been the low bidder on all of the roofing work to date. Bobby and Ann are active in their church, members at Pinewood Country Club and live in between Asheboro and Seagrove. Bobby is a musician playing the guitar and singing for Nobody's Fault band.
